What's new at Frame Lines in 2009

* Frame Lines is going Quarterly in 2009! After much discussion at HQ we have decided to produce the Frame Lines magazine on a quarterly basis in 2009. This exciting change will allow the artists work to be in circulation for longer and also see the production of smaller 'Frame Lines Collective' editions which will be produced throughout the year, along with Frame Lines events, exhibitions and much more!

* Frame Lines goes to print & available to purchase online - We are stoked to be able to offer you a printed version of Frame Fines in 2009! The magazine will still be available to download in PDF form for free but for those who want to get their hands on a printed edition, you will now be able to purchase your very own copy through our NEW* online store ! The store is expected to go live early February, so stay tuned for updates!

* Frame Lines gets a new look! We are very excited here at Frame Lines HQ! The Magazine gets a new look in 09 and we can't wait to show it off in edition 7! We hope to blow you all away with even cleaner lines and space for the artist work to float from the pages into your visual realm!

Frame Lines is a non-profit organization

Frame Lines showcases the best creative work - art, design, illustration, poetry, fiction, music, photography and much more from around the world...

We are dedicated to enlivening the senses, stimulating the mind, and provoking discussion about diversity in the world in which we live
... "It doesn’t matter how the literal (by conventional definitions) quality of a piece of work is gauged, as long as we are convinced that you ripped a chunk of your soul and bared it to the world (with your eyes closed tight and heart as open as the sky), then you’ve earned your moment of marvel; your glitter of fairy dust; your glow of twilight in our world of darkness and lightness. And by whatever’s sacred, we will help you celebrate it"

Current edition #6 - Fashion the Face of Culture

framelines edition6

So what is Fashion? it can refer to styles of dress but it can also include the social fabric, the culture of our society, the landscape, literature, art, architecture, and general comportment that are popular in a culture at any given time. Such styles may change quickly, and 'fashion' in the more colloquial sense refers to the latest version of these styles. Inherent in the term is the idea that the mode will change more quickly than the culture as a whole. At Frame Lines, we will be looking at this topic and flipping the ideals that society holds for the general term of fashion.

Polaroid final.jpg

As you all my have heard, the Polaroid will soon be no longer (insert loud bellowing screams and cries), so to mark the occasion fans have created a web site dedicated to saving the Polaroid from being forgotten. The site gives info on what film may still be available in future and what you can do to save this lost art.
